Snow Ice Cream

When life hands you a foot of snow, make SNOW ICE CREAM!!!! This is the second year of this fun tradition. Special thanks to our church friend Susan for the yummy recipe. This is a great budget saver when ice cream is a staple in your household and you can’t get to the store because of the weather!  (Nate tells me that this costs about 65 cents!)

Here is the recipe we use:

Snow Ice Cream

1 gallon fresh snow (exact measurement is not necessary, just grab a big bowl)

2 cups milk

1 cup sugar

2-3 teaspoons Vanilla

Put the snow in a bowl and add the other ingredients on top.

Then stir. If the snow melts too much in the process, you can place it in the freezer for a little bit before serving.

Serve with your favorite toppings.

Bek and Luke’s approach: A little of everything!

A girl after my own heart: Chocolate Snow Ice Cream!

There are some other benefits to the fluffy white stuff. For example, here is a tip I learned from one of my kids yesterday: if you get thirsty while sledding just grab a handful of snow and pop it in your mouth. They did inform me that it was clean, white snow!   🙂

Jake's approach: Do not attempt :-)

Jake’s approach: Would not recommend 🙂

Have you ever made snow ice cream? Do you have a different recipe?

We made snow ice cream last night with a similar recipe. We put it in waffle bowls we had from Aldi’s and that made it yummy I thought! 🙂

We want to hear from you!
