Throughout the course of this last year, I have evaluated nearly every aspect of my life. My marriage, my parenting, my thought life, my character, my passions and my desires. For the most part I have liked what I see and I am happy with where my life is at. But as I started to dig deeper, I realized that there are some beliefs, some sins and some struggles that I have not worked through and these hindrances are preventing me from becoming all that God has created me to be.
I think I am finally ready now to get down to business and break free from all those lies, habits and struggles, so that I can run my race with confidence and boldness.
I have learned this last year that God has to be in the driver’s seat for things to turn out well. I have also learned that I want to be like the Hebrew 11 Hall of Faithers as I run the race. But how do I take that step of faith and do it? How do I change me so that I am able to take on life and win? Well, I believe Hebrews 12 gives us a pretty good game plan on how to get through this crazy race we call life and be able to hear the words from Matthew 25:21. “Well done, good and faithful servant!”
For the next several weeks we are going to be breaking down Hebrews 12 in hopes that at the end of it all we will be able to hear God’s voice more clearly, allow God to change and mold us more easily, and be more willing to do whatever it takes to be a light in this dark world.
Is this something that you desire? Do you wish your circumstances would change? Have you lost hope that your dreams will ever happen? Have you been hurt so badly that you have settled to just do it all on your own? I don’t know where life is taking you but I do know God, and I believe He wants life to be better for me and you.
Are you willing to join me in this marathon? Let’s join together to learn how to run each leg of the race well. Let’s learn how to heal those wounds and bruises mile 9 gave us so that we can strengthen our muscles to sail through mile 13 and beyond!
If you are up for the challenge, I ask that for the next couple days you would start preparing your heart. Ask God to begin to reveal to you the weights that are slowing you down. Sometimes those weights seem like they are out of your control, others are ones you have held too tightly for too long. Either way, God can help us release those weights and help us to learn to run unhindered. Let’s do this!
Together we can learn to hear God’s voice more clearly and allow Him to navigate us through our paths in life. Please join me – you will not regret drawing near to God.
