Men are leaders…leaders in their home, church, and community. I am passionate about equipping men to be effective husbands, dads, and leaders. Guys, even if you have delegated much of the child-raising, decision-making, and housekeeping to your wife, it is still your responsibility to provide leadership, encouragement, and companionship. It is still your responsibility to get in there and be present. (I’m not saying that you have to attend every field trip to the zoo. But, you need to prioritize time with your family, and when you are with them you need to be there.) And sometimes you may have to fight for them! I encourage you to use this blog as a starting point for many good discussions with your wife. She wants to connect with you. She wants you to lead!
A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.
Ephesians 6:10-11 (NLT)
In the same way, you husbands must give honor to your wives. Treat your wife with understanding as you live together. She may be weaker than you are, but she is your equal partner in God’s gift of new life. Treat her as you should so your prayers will not be hindered.
1 Peter 3:7 (NLT)
Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.
Ephesians 6:4 (NIV)
